Role Description
This is a contract role for an Assistant Project Manager based in Japan, with the flexibility to work remotely but must travel around Japan for Business Meetings.
The Assistant Project Manager will support project planning, coordination, and execution to ensure project milestones are met. Responsibilities include expediting procurement processes, overseeing logistics, liaising with stakeholders, train employees, tracking project progress, and ensuring inspections meet quality standards. Effective communication and timely problem-solving are key aspects of the role.
- Lead the Digital Transformation Proof of Concept (PoC) project with our Japanese partner, ensuring successful delivery and adoption.
- Act as the bridge between Japan and Korea, facilitating agile communication across teams.
- Manage stakeholders in a legacy industry environment, balancing innovation with existing workflows.
- Establish Packative’s presence in Japan as the first local employee, setting the foundation for future growth.
- Assist the CEO in navigating the Japanese landscape
- Provide structured project reporting and feedback to global leadership.
- Launch our SaaS Product to the Japanese Market.
- 3+ years work Experience in Japan.
- Experience with Expediting and knowledge of Expeditor processes
- Proficiency in Project Management techniques and tools
- Familiarity with Inspection and quality control procedures
- Skills in Logistics Management, including supply chain coordination
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder management
- Experience with Digital Transformation System, ERP or similar.
- Proficiency in Japanese and English (both written and verbal)
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred)
- Experience in the packaging sector or with B2B eCommerce solutions is an advantage
